Kids will worship through song and instruments in the new FUMC Kidz Music Program! Music is an important, lively way to connect to God. We work with kids to teach them worship through singing and instruments to bring them closer to God. See some of the exciting parts of the program below!
Age to participate 1st-5th grade.
The Illuminate choir uses white gloved hands to worship and praise God with Christian contemporary music during The ConneXion Worship Service throughout the year.
A black light is used to illuminate the white gloves as the choir uses their hands to build a visual message set to music. Students work an average of two months for an hour and a half a week to produce four minute mime worship for our congregation.
We are the youngest hand-mime choir in Hot Springs, Arkansas! We work very hard each week on our assigned mime parts and end each class with a group power prayer. Because of our age ranges and abilities, it is important to be at most practices. Students are expected to make the scheduled worship date due to the inability to have someone with the ability to step in to substitute your part in the choir.
The choir practices on Wednesday nights from 6:00 pm-7:30 pm. You are welcome to invite friends and you do not need to be a member to be part of this worship. You can choose to commit to both fall and spring semesters or just choose to be part of one semester’s Illuminate Choir. Black shirts and gloves are provided. Participates are asked to furnish their own black pants and socks.
The Kidz Praise Choir is a vocal choir for boys and girls wanting to worship God! Most songs will be sung with accompaniment of a piano or guitar in worship. Songs may be in the genre of traditional hymns or contemporary.
Students will have the opportunity to audition for a solo or a duet experience in worship. Each class begins with vocal warm ups, rehearsal of songs, and ends with personal “highs and lows” of each week.
We have lots of grace in this class and you do not need to be an amazing vocalist! You just need to love God and enjoy learning in a group of your peers.
The Kidz Praise choir presents songs in the Traditional Worship Service at 10:45 am throughout the year. The choir also sings for special evening events like Hanging of the Greens service, the Grand Central Christmas Concert, and Easter services.
The choir practices on Wednesday nights from 6-7:30 pm in November and December and again in April and May. You can commit to both winter and fall sessions or to just choose the session that works for you. Choir folders are provided and church attire is requested for most worship services.
Contact Michelle Wilkins at email@example.com to be part of this choir.
Your child is automatically enrolled in this choir if they are in the Pre-K-Kindergarten W.A.K. class on Wednesdays from 4-5:30 pm.
Our music teacher comes into your child’s classroom at 5 pm every week and teaches students age appropriate worship songs, movement songs, and simple instruments. This choir performs in both the Traditional Worship Service and The ConneXion Worship Service at 10:45 am on Sunday mornings throughout the year. Parents are notified via email and written reminders as to when their child will be part of worship and where to meet for the performances.
Contact Michelle Wilkins at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have further questions about this choir.
