Boot Camp Objective: Each "troop" member will become familliar with the Bible, learn how to access information, and begin to understand the Bible's purpose for their lives.
Boot Camp Mission Offering:  Each troop member is invited to bring an offering of any amount that will be used toward the purchase of a child's Bible for Methodist Family Health. All offerings will be blessed at our closing worship service and communion.

Boot Camp Instructions:  All troops report for duty on Friday night, August 18th at 1900 hours (7:00 pm) at the Camp Tanako Life Center.  Troops will spend the night in the bunk houses, play games, make s'mores by the campfire, learn fun Bible cadences and songs, and attend important Bible Boot Camp courses to strengthen their understanding of the Bible and it's purpose for their lives!  Boot camp concludes at 1400 hours (2:00 pm) on the following Saturday, August 19.  Parents will pick up troops at that time at Camp Tanako!

created by god

Created By God is the United Methodist Human Sexuality curriculum.   It is being presented to students who have completed 5th and 6th grades using a seminar format.

A parent orientation is required for participation in the seminar. This parent orientation will take place on Wednesday, August 9 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Piney Grove Methodist Church (2963 Airport Road).

The student workshop will begin on a Thursday, August 10 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm at Piney Grove.  The students will finish on Friday, August 11 from 8:00 am - 5:30 pm, with the last hour requiring one parent to attend from 4:30 - 5:30pm.

Micah Castleberry, a Hot Springs Registered Nurse, will be our presenter.  Enrollment fee is $40 and can be paid by cash or check to Piney Grove UMC.  Space is limited to 20 students.

Students must attend the ENTIRE workshop in order to participate.  Parents are required to take part in the workshop by serving as a small group facilitator for at least one session, or by providing snacks.  All parents are asked to attend the last hour of the Saturday session with their child.
